PostSubject: dieing in the sun   dieing in the sun EmptyTue Feb 15, 2011 10:43 am

Jayson was walking around town, when he had found a beach. Of course he didn't know that it was on the reservation. But he knew if he was to do anything the first thing would be to hide the scent. It had been a long time since Jayson had anything to eat. He remembered what Luna said, "Don't feed on helpless animals if you don't need to,". Jayson smelled something with blood. He walked towards the water the sun shining brightly. It was about mid-day really hot, and he had no where to go.

Jayson went and jumped into the water and tried to find the source of blood he was smelling. He looked down and saw fish. He looked down at it, he was really hungry and could feel his fangs come out.

Taymos looked up at the sky as she bounded in the direction of the beach - First Beach, was what she had heard it called. Of course, no one had told her that directly...she just heard others talking about it. But, today was sunny and Tay didn't have any stress - yet - and with her eyes facing the sky she was met with the glaring sun. She looked away, giggling to herself, and continued on her way to the beach carelessly.

Upon her arrival, she swore she saw someone dive into the water...Sure, it was warm today, but not that warm. It was Washington; it couldn't be as hot as it would be in Texas or anywhere else more southern.

'Huh,' she thought, and her head tilted a little in curiosity.

She wasn't very sure if she should go and check to see who or what that was, considering her record of bad luck. For all she knew, it could be someone who would kill her in an instant. Did she really want to risk that?

A few clouds floated overhead, dotting the blue sky, and she pursed her lips.

'Get near the water...whatever it is will emerge soon enough...' She finally decided, and walked slowly toward the location where whoever or whatever it was dived and she sat down in the coarse sand.

"And now I wait." She murmured to herself, and leaned back on her arms.

Jayson would be swimming under water catching fish and feeding. Although small they seemed to satisfy his hunger after at least 10 of them. Being under the water he couldn't smell the presence of someone else but he could feel it. He didn't know what to do, whether the person up there would attack him or not. For all he cared he could stay under water all day, he didn't actually need to breathe. But he decided what the heck the worst that happens is an early death. Jayson retracted his fangs and swam back up to the surface.

There he spotted someone. He couldn't see very well but she had brown hair, and brown eyes. He would get out of the water soaking wet, taking his time not being in a rush.

Tay had lost her - stubborn - concentration on whatever or whoever was in the water, and her eyes were watching the sky. There were light gray clouds dotting the sky, forming larger masses. It wasn't of her doing, but she found herself distracted by the masses of water vapor. They weren't very much that would be interesting to most; but she was curious as to how her abilities worked.

Her curiosity fueled the small bit of wind that blew across First Beach, with the clouds darkening slightly, and she tucked her hair behind her ears to keep it from getting too ruffled.

The few quiet moments that had calmed her, with the sight of the clouds rolling across teh sky lazily, she heard a noise interrupt the serene quiet. Air around her - warmer than usual by the company of the sun - that had once been moving with a slight breeze, went still as she froze and her eyes looked to the water. There had been a slight splash of the water that caused it to flow more so. Her eyes met with a figure, and she felt her eyes widen.

A guy.

It was almost too bad that she could already tell - from a distance, at that - he wasn't human. Tay's senses were tuned enough, even though she could almost be considered human, to know this much.

Her eyes watched him, caution wavering in them as her eyebrows furrowed.

It took her a few moments, after her surprise and confusion passed, for her to be able to speak.

"Hi?"

The male would have forgotten to hide his scent as he came out of the water. At this point he didn’t really care he could sense that she knew he wasn’t human. But he masked his scent just a little to make himself feel some what better. But nothing could put him off from his happy mood. He just had food and got a nice bath. What could be better? He looked around the beach searching for the scent of anyone else. Had anyone else followed her? There seemed to be no one else but just them two on the beach. He wondered what brought her here.

“Hey,” He would reply. He walked closer, studying her features more closely.

Jayson just stood there not really sure of what he should do next. He walked over to the pile of his clothes and picked them up. He wasn’t sure what to do, he didn’t want to get his clothes wet. But he felt some what exposed in front of this stranger. He put his shorts on to make him feel a little less exposed.

Taymos wrinkled her nose a little at the stronger scent of the brine of the ocean - and mixing with his smell. It wasn't very pleasant, it was almost similar to bleach or ammonia. Without the burn of her nostrils, of course, but still similar. 'Note to self; don't ever be around a vampire who had just gotten out of an ocean,' She thought, and sighed heavily.

Vampire; wonderful. The only thing she could hope for was that he wasn't thirsty.

For a short second, she pondered how she knew exactly was he was before remembering. It was very simple, but hard to explain how she had figured this out. Vampires smelt like bleach when they come out of water, werewolves smelt like wet dog (obviously), shape shifters smelt like soap, and then humans...normal. Dirt, maybe?

Her eyes focused back on the guy, and she pursed her lips. As she noticed him looking around with his eyes, she rolled her own. "I'm alone; as always. There's no one around." She said lightly, wrinkling her nose a bit.

As he slipped on shorts, she hadn't exactly noticed the slight lack of clothing until now.

"So...why exactly were you in the water? For fun? Hunting? As odd as that would be...any other reason?" She questioned, narrowing her eyes slightly at him.

Jayson looked back at the girl. He wasn't sure whether he should answer her questions or

"Just felt like swimming, and maybe a lil hungry" he replied with a shrug.

He looked up at the sun. Letting out a hiss as it somewhat blinded him. He would look at the girl again. He wished he could of hid his scent like his sister Luna, but he couldn't. He felt like a wet seal or something. The water slid down his abs, getting his boxers and pants wet. He'd get kind of confused not knowing what to do. Should he offer her to come over to his house or something? Wait. . he scratched that thought off he didn't have a house. It was only him and his jeep now.

He stood still for a moment closing his eyes. Trying to catch his sisters scent. He could smell it vaguely. But it wasn't her normal scent. He could smell blood and lot's of it.

An eyebrow raising was the only reaction to his words - at first. She was thinking of the likeliness - swimming and slightly hungry? It didn't take long for her to become completely undecided on whether or not it was likely. Taymos Elabeth Saphs didn't know much about other people; so...ya. This wasn't anything around her expertise.

"Hungry...? Did you really drink from fish?" She said, and grimaced a bit at the thought. She noticed him hissing, and that further dampened her mood as she sighed. The clouds rolled in a bit, blocking the sun slightly. It was noticeably darker, and she frowned up at the clouds.

'Don't even think about it,' she thought darkly toward the stupid masses of water vapor.

The clouds were the one thing she didn't feel like dealing with today. It was a somewhat good day for her, and the clouds were just...mean to her. Completely, and utterly mean. She didn't want to know how they felt about her being in a good mood for once. She just knew that it probably wouldn't be anything good at all.

She'd rather not mess with them.

Tay chewed on her lower lip as she watched him. Vampires; she was terrified of them. It was a rare moment when she could control her fear and cause herself to be calm in front of one of them.

A distant rumble of thunder brought her worries to the back of her mind and she glared up at the clouds. "Oh shut up!" She snapped at them, and an almost inaudible grumble of thunder sounded. She huffed, and crossed her arms stubbornly. "Idiotic masses." She snarled under her breath, and she heard a crack in the distance - from the clouds.

Groaning in annoyance, she hit her forehead.

Jayson looked up at the sky taking his mind off his sister and the alarming amounts of blood he could smell on her. He noticed the change in temperature and shivered some feeling a little cold.

"Yeah fish are a good source of blood. I guess if you avoid the poison in them," Jayson replied shrugging his shoulders getting some what bored and antsy. He wanted to know what was up with his sister.

He just couldn't get his mind of the smell. He could see tiny bits and pieces of where she was. From the looks of it, it wasn't too good. His body tensed but he tried to stay calm. For the sake of what seemed to be a human. He could now smell her blood not realizing he had been holding his breath for so long.

Tay didn't really notice much besides the fact that the guy shivered a little bit. "Sorry." She said sheepishly, and frowned a bit up at the clouds. The sun wasn't really shining anymore, and the immediate shade made her feel a little cold as well.

Oh well.

A grimace of distaste came to her lips. "Why fish? Why not...why not deer or something like that?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowing a bit. She ignored the want to ask when he tensed from - from something. But, asking may not be the best idea in this situation. She didn't even know what was wrong.

He looked at her amused by her reaction.

"Well my sister seems to have a soft spot for animals, and it upsets her that vampires feed from them. So i try not to unless it's important. I was also just close to the beach and i've never tried fishing before, since my dad wasn't around for me," he replied looking away. Wow nice job he thought to himself just give away your life story. she probably doesn't even care.

Jayson looked around trying to distract himself. What ever she was dealing with I'm sure she will be fine, he thought to himself. But then again he didn't really know his sister all that well. But he learned one thing, she was in love with animals. and seemed to do just fine with being raised by only her father.

He'd look at the female again. debating whether he should tell her whats going or or not. but he didn't want to scare her away. she was nice and seemed different from other humans he had met.

Tay pursed her lips. "Well, which would she think is better; killing humans or killing animals?" She asked, her lips now in a slight frown. People and other things killed animals everyday - it was nothing new. Why should it really bother a...vampire? Not that she was being judgmental...or at least too judgmental...but really? A vampire caring whether or not animals die?

It was unheard of to Taymos' ears.

A sigh came from her lips, and she then pursed her lips.

"Well..." She didn't know what to say to that. A frown accented her features, and she sighed. "That's a bit confusing." She said at last, and grimaced a bit. Tay wasn't trying to be offensive, but she really didn't see how what he had told her was possible...

Jayson looked at her and shrugged. "I don't feed to kill humans or animals. I was taught to not kill, but just feed enough to satisfy my hunger," Jayson replied. I don't really believe in killing anything. He looked around and away a little hurt. He paced back and forth to keep him self calm.

"Look not all vampires are mean vicious killers, but we're not all sparkly and happy, " Jayson said trying to keep his voice calm. It was harder then he thought though. He was about done with talking to this human and started walking off with out do much as a good bye.

Taymos grimaced, and then thought of what to say. She might as well go with why she had assumed all - or at least most - were killers. Her issue was just that she didn't have a good history with vampires. Regardless, though, she still felt guilty for being so bias about this.

"Sorry for assuming..." She said, trailing off before continuing quickly. "It's just that I've had a lot of run-ins with vampires and every single one of them tried to kill me. You're the first that hasn't." She said, looking at the ground guiltily.

She felt ashamed for jumping to conclusions without asking him head on.

"Sorry!" She called softly after him, then just sat on the ground and let her head hit her knees. 'Idiot,' She chastised herself.

Well...there went the chance of making a new friend.

Jayson would walk to his jeep and hop in. Slamming the door shut behind him and drive off back to his sisters house. He didn't feel so tense anymore. But he still worried what happened about the whole blood situation. He wondered if he should ask her or not. Then again she was a big girl and she could probably take care of her self no matter what it was. Jayson looked back at the girl as he sped off.
